On Friday, I joined Congressman Morgan Griffith, the Wise County Sheriff's Office, and other emergency response personnel to assess the impact of flooding in parts of Wise County. What’s never been more clear is the grit, determination, and resilience of our mountain people, communities, and towns. Meanwhile, my colleagues in the SWVA delegation and I are working to marshal resources for the recovery effort. Governor Glenn Youngkin has declared a state of emergency in Virginia in response to flooding, and I’m grateful that our leaders at every level understand the seriousness of these events. Please continue to monitor weather conditions, and take every precaution to keep you and your loved ones safe. I will continue to provide any updates available.
